About Gerry

Gerald “Gerry” Gapinski is an independent contemporary artist working and exhibiting in Edinburgh, Scotland.

His artistic research moves freely between visual art, material experimentation and artistic fashion.

Reused fabrics, paint, textures and found materials become expressive tools, transformed into artworks and wearable pieces with a strong identity.

The Gallery Shop at 30 St Marys Street is both an exhibition space and a working studio, where visitors can explore the creative process and engage directly with the artist.

Each piece reflects an intuitive, spontaneous and deeply personal approach to art.

There and back

John publishes his first photography book titled There and Back, which quickly became a New York Times Best Seller. John and Chai finish and release their third feature documentary collaboration called The Rescue.

Mavric

On Mount Vinson, john, Jim Doe, Hilaree Mrqu, and Conrad Akter ascend the Ice Stream for the second time. In a 48-hour effort, they climb and ski Mount Vinson. The team tries to scale and ski Mount Tyree, Antarctica's second-highest peak.

Embracing Boundless

A free soul seeks adventure, values authenticity, and thrives on personal experiences that align with their individual spirit. It's about finding joy in the journey, embracing spontaneity.

Queen Maud, Antarctica

Together with his friend and mentor Conrad Akter, John climbs a brand-new 4000-foot large wall alpine route on Ulvetanna (The Wolf's Fang) in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica.
